Founded In 1835
Ecole des Trois Docteurs, a Christian Orthodox School affiliated to the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Beirut, was founded in 1835. It was the biggest educational institution of Beirut, the first one to be founded in the city, known then as “The Grand School”.
During wars, the buildings were occupied several times, and had to be relocated in total respect of the norms of restauration of historical buildings. In 1998 and upon the directives of His Eminence Metropolitan Elias (Audi), the school was rehabilitated and equipped to become a safe educational environment.
Today our school adopts an educational approach that respects the uniqueness and the wholeness of each learner.
It strives to:
- ensure equal opportunities to all learners at all levels.
- integrate learners with special educational needs in the regular school life.
- encourage the continuous cooperation with the learners’ parents.
- adopt pedagogical methods and techniques that contribute to develop social responsibility, problem solving, creativity and critical thinking skills in real life situations.
The school is divided into 5 divisions, and welcomes learners aged between 3 and 18 years, among which 20% have learning difficulties or special needs.
Arabic, French and English are taught in all classes. Non-language subjects are taught in French. A variety of co-curricular subjects are also integrated such as music, arts, drama, computer and sports. The school obtained the label CELF in March 2013 and the label FrancEducation in July 2016.
A Daycare center that serves primarily children of staff members of the Orthodox Institutions of Beirut as well as the surrounding communities, was inaugurated in 2019 in an independent house, on the premises of the school.
In order to achieve its educational and pedagogical objectives, the school relies on a qualified team of educators who are engaged in a process of continuous professionalization and learning.
